Elementary education is a tremendous boon to helping young people stem the cycle of violence as it plays out in various parts of their personal lives.SPAN’s curriculum is a K-5 violence prevention curriculum first developed in 1994 by Boulder area teachers, administrators and domestic violence educators.4047cell: [email protected] over 50 years, the Alameda County Public Health Department has worked to improve the health and safety of County residents and the neighborhoods in which they live.Since 2007, they have been a core member of the Alameda County Teen Dating Violence Task Force, a group of government agencies, community-based organizations (CBOs) and community members, that work together to produce institutional change within schools and school districts.
In our classroom and community presentations, we will work side by side with students (K-12) and professionals to respectfully and sensitively explore cultural and historical struggles that face our communities every day.

At SPAN, we incorporate a social justice framework into our age-appropriate curriculum for school-based programs and community trainings.
In addition, the curriculum addresses all forms of sexual assault and the relationship between drugs, alcohols, and violence.
